For the purpose of selecting a candidate to be recommended as Representative for each District (other than for the Murihiku'District where only one nomination has been received) and for the purpose of selecting a candidate to be recommended as “The Representative of Ngaitahu” a Postal Ballot will be taken. In the case of the respective Representatives for the various Districts, only Beneficiaries residing within the particular District concerned shall be entitled to vote for a' Representative for such District. For voting purposes, Beneficiaries are deemed to be persons beneficially interested in the Ngaitahu Trust Fund who have attained the age of 21 years on the 31st day of May, 1950. No special form of voting paper is required but Beneficiaries may exercise their votes by writing to the RETURNING OFFICER so as to reach him on or before the 31st day of JULY, 1950, stating:

(a) The candidate for whom they wish to vote as a Representative of Ngaitahu. (b) The cahdidate for whom they wish to vote as Representative of their District, being the District in which' their permanent address is located. (c) The permanent address 'of the Beneficiary exercising the vote. (d) If possible the Beneficiary’s number on the Ngaitahu Claim list passed by The Native Land Court 1925, or any Succession v Order passed by The Maori Land Court, or if number or date of Court Order is not known, or if the claim is not in the voter’s own right, the name of the person through whom the beneficial right is claimed. N.B. Beneficiaries may vote for candidate for Ngaitahu District as well as the candidate for their own District. All voting papers shall be signed by the Beneficiary voting, and shall be forwarded by the voter to the RETURNING OFFICER, SOUTHERN MAORI DISTRICT, SUPREME COURT, BOX SO, CHRISTCHURCH, so as to reach him not later than the 31st day of JULY, 1950.
