The date was tentatively fixed for October 7, and the contest will take place at the Domain. 4 The Mayor (Mr E. C. The appointment of secretary was held over in the meantime, a small sub-committee being set up to go into the matter.

On the suggestion of Mr Frew, it was decided to hold the contest on October 7, provided the Methven Trotting Club’s meeting was not held on that date, but that, if there was a clash with Methven, that it be held the following Saturday (October 14). Mr Frew also mentioned that the association had invited Mr R. J. Estall •to act as adjudicator at the contest. Warm applause greeted an announcement by Mr Maynard that, as a donation, his son had agreed to set up and operate the loudspeaker system at the contest.

Proceedings closed with a vote of thanks to the Mayor for taking the chair.
