PANTHER BREAKS LOOSE
. REIGN OF TERROR IN SHIP BANGKOK, May 4, An American woman wild animal dealer and two Chinese members of the crew were injured when a panther broke loose aboard the Norwegian ship Brattheim bound from Bangkok to One Chinese was claw r ed severely in the abdomen and is noAV in Bangkok Hospital in a critical condition. The animal dealer, Genevieve Cuprys, aged 26, escaped with a badly slashed arm and contusions to the head and shoulders and back. ■ The panther broke loose from a wooden cage and terrorised the ship for two hours. The Brattheim’s 'master returned to port and summoned wild animal handlers when the terrified panther cowered below decks in a scullery. The animal handlers, armed with shotguns, killed the panther.
