CHILD ENDOWMENT
PAYMENT UN! AUSTRALIA (Rec. 11.15) CANBERRA, This Day. A Bill providing payment of 5s a week endowment for the first or only child under 16 years of age in every family was introduced into the Senate by the Minister of Social Services, Mr Spooner. He said that first payments would be made on June 200, and that about 1,110,000 families would benefit. The additional endowment would cost about £15,000,000 in the next financial year, and would bring the estimated total cost of child endowment to £46,250,000. - , . - .
