FOREIGNERS IN SHANGHAI
EVACUATION ABOARD U.S. SHIP WASHINGTON, March 14,. The United States State Department announced to-day 'that the American President Line vessel General Gordon (17,700 tons) would evacuate more than IGOO foreigners from Shanghai next week. The Americans in the party would total 310, including consular officials. A State Department spokesman said that the Chinese Nationalist authorities had agreed not to interfere with the vessel when it. went to Shanghai about March 20. He added that no difficulties were expected from the Chinese Communist authorities.
