Professor John H. Davis, Professor of Botany at the University of Florida, arrived in Auckland by the Aorangi last evening to take up a position with the botany department of Auckland University College. He will be in Ne’Cv Zealand for one year under the Fulbright Grant Scheme—((P.A.)
Mr H. E. Perry, a member of the Christchurch Rotary Club, was yesterday nominated District Governor of the Fortieth District of Rotary Clubs at the annual conference in Wellington. He will be elected District Governor at the Rotary International convention which he will attend in Detroit in June.—.(P.A.)
The Rev. J. Sid low Baxter, minister of Charlotte Baptist Church, Edinburgh, is yet undecided whether to accept the call to the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle which was sent him. last June. Mr Baxter and his wife arrived in the Aorangi at Auckland last night on a world tour. They will spend a month in New Zealand.— (P.A.) -
