MILD AFTER RAIN
The weather in Ashburton to-day was mild following an overnight rain registering seven points. No frost was recorded this mofhing. Other recordings taken at 9 o’clock this morning were: Maximum temperature 61.2 degrees, minimum 40.0 degrees, earth 54.15 degrees, barometer 29.72 inches. The sun shone for 8.4 hours yesterday.
OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone is approaching New Zealand from the west. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Moderate variable winds; -weather fair to fine;,frosts to-night, day temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Fair.
