REMOVED FROM EMPLOYMENT
MANY BRITISH CIVIL SERVANTS (Rec. 10.40 a.m.) LONDON. Mar. 14. Mr Douglas Jay, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, told the House of Commons to-day that since March 15, 11948, 48 civil servants had been removed from their employment, 22 on grounds of membership of the Communist Party, one on the grounds of membership of the Fascist Party and 2!) on the grounds of association with the Communist Party in such a way as to raise legitimate doubts about their reliability.—Reuter.
