SPYING CHARGES
HEAVY SENTENCES IMPOSED (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) SOFIA, March S. Michael Sipkov, translator at the United States Legation in Sofia, was sentenced to-day to imprisonment for 15 years on charges of spying for the American Government. Jivka Rindova, a woman switchboard operator at the legation, was sentenced to imprisonment for 12 years. Three other defendants who admitted supplying economic information to Rindova received terms ranging from four to six years. Each of the defendants had pleaded guilty.
