Body Found Mutilated In Hut (P.A.) NELSON, This Day. The body of a gold prospector, • Frederick Neilson, aged about 64, was found mutilated in his hut about five miles in from Lyell in the Buller Gorge yesterday afternoon. The man’s head was battered in, and his left hand had been cut off. » ■ The discovery was made by a friend of Neilsen’s, Mr Len Newton, a roadman, who lives near Lyell, and whom Neilsen was in the habit of meeting every Friday. Detectives from Nelson were on the scene before daylight this morning, and others were being sent from Christchurch and Wellington to assist.
