GREYMOUTH T.C. (P.A.) GREYMOUTH, This Day. The Greymouth Trotting Club’s meeting began in fine weather. The track was soft after heavy rain. An inquiry was held into the performance. of Precaution, third favourite, which finished fifth in the opening trot. After hearing evidence the stipendiary stewards announced that they considered its performance unsatisfactory and disqualified the horse from starting again at the meeting. Precaution is owned by Messrs A. Holmes and J. Shelley and was driven by C. King. Results:
EXPRESS HANDICAP, of one mile and five furlongs—2-2 Sure Charge 12 (Young) 1, 7-8 Mountain Range scr (McKenzie) 2, S-7 Calamity Jane (Purdon) 3. Three-quarters of a length; three lengths. BRUNNER HANDICAP—First Division; 5-6 Jack’s Luck (Thompson) 1, 6-3 Ellesmere Boy (Purdon) 2, 1-1 Chief Eagle (Fuller)' 3. Half-length; neck. Braeval was fourth. Time, 3.46 2-5. Dividends: 'Win, £4/17/6; places, £2/15/-, £2/4/-. Second Division: 14-14 Molly Grattan (K. Powell) 1, 9-9 Worthy Globe (Tapper) (coupled with Esperanto) 2, 11-12 Terrace Lass (Williams) 3.
