URANIUM FIND REPORTED
DENVER, Colorado. k mining company official has reported that a 3600-foot tunnel into the heart of the Rocky Mountains has pierced what may be an immportant “mother lode” ,of pitch-blende—prime source of uranium. The official, Mr Alexander Pregel, vice-president of the Canadian Radium and Uranium Corporation, said in an interview with the Denver Post that the lode was located in the old Caribou mine district 1 high in the mountains west of Boulder, Colorado. Plans were be’ing made to fan out with other tunnels to adjacent areas in a search for more deposits. In New York an official of the Atomic Energy Commission said a full report on the mine’s prospects aad been made. — Reuter.
