Percy, of Queensland, in a hardfought 36-hole final at_Otatara today, two up and one to play. This was a victory to one of the most popular golfers in New Zealand.

It was not the Australians’ day. Miss B. Kernot, the manager of the Australian team, was beaten 3 and 2 in the final of the New Zealand Plate by Mrs L. W. Smith, of Invercargill.

The day’s play brought to an end what will be remembered as possibly the most successful of the 46 championship tournaments conducted, by the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union. But for a brief period the weather was fine throughout. The big match to-day was followed by a gallery of between 500 and 600. Miss Hudson’s form, particularly on the outward journey, in the morning, was up to the standard she set in her match with Miss Bislio'p on Thursday.

In the first round -Miss Hudson was four up at the 15th, but lost two of the next three holes. The game was square at the ninth in the afternoon and Miss Percy took the next to lead for the first time. Miss Hudson won the 13th and 14th to be one up again, but lost her' lead at The Canterbury girl won the 16th in a birdie four and clinched the match with a three at'the follcwifig hole.
