BRIDGE DESTROYED
500 KILLED OR WOUNDED (Rec. 11.15 a.m.) HONG KONG, Oct. 24. Over 500 persons were killed or wounded when evacuating Nationalists recently exploded the Pearl River bridge, linking Canton City and the southern suburbs of Honan, said the Peiping radio. The radio claimed that the bridge was blown up just as cars, pedi-cars and pedestrians were using it, and while boats were sailing under its' spans.
