NAVY IN ATOMIC AGE
CRUISER WILL REPLACE BATTLESHIP (Rec. 10 a.m.) KARACHI, October 24. The cruiser would replace the battleship as the capital ship of the atomic age, said Rear-Admiral J. W. Jefford, Flag Officer Commanding Royal Pakistan Navy.
He added that the aircraft-carrier would be out of date, because when atomic fuel could be used in aircraft all planes would presumably be landbased. That date might not be so far nway as people imagined.
