QUARTERLY MEETING The quarterly meeting of the Star of Ashburton Lodge was presided over by A.I). Bro. (). F. Jorgenson. Copies of amendments to rules, which have now been registered, were received and, as a result of these amendments, members who have attained the age of 55 years will now have their sick, funeral and management fund dues paid from the Cl rand Lodge Benefit Fund—24 members immediately become eligible for ■ this benefit. The new funeral benefit increases Hie amount paid to £5 in the case of male members and £2 10s in tlie case of female members.
The A.D. reported on the largo gathering which had been held in Christchurch recently to pay tributo to the retired Grand Secretary. Bro. S. E. Talbot, after 20 years as Grand Secretary and nearly 40 years in the Friendly Society movements.
Sick pay amounting to £2l 17s 4d was passed for payment in favour of 18 members.
Bro. Beach reported that jewels for Past Arch Druids were still in course of being manufactured.
