Water Extension Scheme —Good progress is being made by the contractors with the laying of the pipes for the East Ashburton water extension scheme. The contract will probably be completed in about 21 months time. — Baptist Church: The Ashburton Baptist Church trustees have purchased a section of land at -the corner of Ca!ss and Havelock Streets, and intend erecting the new church there within, probably, the next 12 months.
