CONCLUSION OF AUSTRALIAN ECONOMIST NEW YORK, Aug. 20. The “New York Times” to-day published a report by Dr. Colin Clark, Australian Government economist, stating that United States productivity was 8i times greater than the, Soviet Union’s. This is- based on his research into national production per man houi covering 40 countries. Dr. Clark said that Russia s pioductivitv was low enough to place her in the class with the backward countries of Eastern Europe such as Hungary Yugoslavia and Rumania, the United States, New Zealand and Canada led the world, with Australia and-Britain just behind them.
