METHVEN YOUNG FARMERS DUNKLEY CUP COMPETITION At the monthly meeting - of the Metliven Young Farmers’ Club, Mr I. Mangin presided over a fair attend' arice. A long discussion took place on the inter-club dog trials and on the standarising of events. A donation is to be made to the Metliven A. and P. Association as a special prize at the annual show. Mr G. K. McPherson is to address at the next meeting. Impromptu speeches were held for the Dunkley Cup. The judge, Mr C. W. Talbot, offered useful advice, and stated that members could have spent more time preparing their speeches. Results were: —C. Wilson 1, D. Gerrard 2, G. Hiobson 3, R. Holmes 4. Supper concluded the meeting.
