Cr. R. Oakley was appointed its representative by the Ashburton County Council to-day, on the Land Valuation Committee recently set up by the Valuation Department. Messrs T. P. Husheer and F. A. L. Hunt (manufacturers’ representatives) and F. A. Hamilton and R. W. S. Stevens (growers’ representatives) have been reappointed members of the New Zealand Tobacco Board. —P.A. The appointment of the following members of the National Egg Marketing Advisory Committee was announced in the Gazette last evening: Messrs D. G. Begley, T. S. Dove, F. G. Jackson, J. W. McGlinchv, G. L. McLatchie, and L. J. Nathan—P.A.
Mr R. Lindsay was authorised by the Aghburton County Council to-day to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers at Wellington from February 14 to 18. Congratulations were extended to Mr Lindsay on his appointment as president of the New Zealand County Engineers’ Institute.
