ECONOMY MOVE
OPINION IN AMERICA (Rec. 1.30.) WASHINGTON, April 15. Sena'or Walter Gecrge, the influential chairman of the' Senate Finance Committee, said to-day that he would support an economy d:ive proposed by the two Republicans, Senators Wherry and Bridges, who propose reduced foreign aid. Senator George said that Government spending must be slashed if new taxation is to be avoided. “Nobody can expect Congress to cut down on domestic programmes unless we first reduce our foreign spending. If we are going to pare down anything, we must start there, he said.
