FLOWER SHOW

Lyndhurst School AGRICULTURAL CLUB FIXTURE A successful flower show, organised by the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Club, was held recently in the Lyndhurst School. Entries totalled SGO, and, considering the dry season, were of very good standard. The display,' under the control of Ray Miles, school club leader, Heather Marshall, secretary, and an energetic committee, was attractively staged, and a good attendance of parents and friends during the day and evening made the effort worthwhile. A bring-and-buy stall, in charge of senior pupils, did very brisk business during the afternoon. Judges for the various sections were as follow: —-Flowers and decorative, Mesdames A. C. Gadd and F. Geddes; cookery, Miss J. Thompson; needlework, Mrs C. A. Corbett; art and handwork, Mrs J. B. Ferguson; vegetables and fruit, Mr J. B, Ferguson.
