RAINFALL AT WAKANUI FIGURES FOR DECEMBER Rain recorded at “Wai-Kainga,” Wakanui, in December totalled 1.21 inches. The total in the previous December was 1.46 inches. The total for the year was 25.87 inches, considerably less than in 1947 when 33.44 inches fell. Rain fell on seven days last month and on seven days in December, 1947. The yearly totals since 1939 are:—l939, 3.13 inches; 1940, 30.02 inches; 1941, 36.66 inches; 1942, 28.03 inches; 1943, 30.48 inches; 1944, 38,1 S inches; 1945, 41.54 inches; 1946, 33.87 inches; 1947, 33.44 inches; 1948, 25.57 inches.
