MATINEE MEETING
* Arrangements for Saturday Two beats and a final will be run in the Maiden Pacers' Race at the Ashburton Trotting Club’s matinee meeting at the racecourse on Saturday. The fixture, which will include gymkhana, attractions, "'is being run in aid of the building funds of the Ashburton Returned Services Association and the Tinwald War Memorial Hall. Alterations have been made in the starting times and these will now be as follow :—Maiden Race, first heat 1 p.m., second heat 1.35; unhoppled trotters’ race 2.5 ; 3.33 class pacers’ race 2.40; 3.26 class pacers’ race 3.30; final maiden pacers’ race 4.0. The following are the heats for the Maiden Pacers’ Race : 1 p.m. First heat: Almeta, Bonnie Dale, Green Valley, Honest Truth, Key Spring, Peasebrose, Phyllis Gold, Rosebeam, Scotty’s Double, Southpaw, Sun Chariot, Switbindale. Venetian, Zontalier scr ; Sure Nut 48.
1.35 p.m. Second heat: Blue Signal, Desire, Fanciful, Golden Slipper, High Spirits, Kelvin Lass, Kublai Khan, Luck Ahead, Nankin. Oaktree, Queen of Scotts, Scotchlite, True Dora, Sure lass scr; Clever Jack 36.
