PLANES FOR TURKEY
U.S. CARRIER SAILS (Rec. 11.15) SAN FRANCISCO, April 1. The 12,000-ton aircraft-carrier Rendova, with a cargo of military planes for Turkey, sailed early to-day. She is the first of three carriers which will deliver aircraft to Turkey under the American aid programme. Naval officials refused to reveal the type or number of planes.
