ANOTHER FINE DAY After a fairly cold night, though Without frost, Ashburton experienced further fine, sunny tveather to-day, with very little wind. , During the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. to-day, the maximum temperature was 66.2 degrees and the minimum 41.2, compared with 61 and 40.4 during the previous similar period. The earth temperature this morning was 53.7 degrees, against 54.9 yesterday. The barometer continues to fall and this morning registered 29.98 inches, compared With 30.10 yesterday at 9 а. There were 10.5 hours of sunshine yesterday. OUTLOOK FAIR The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General situation: An anti-cyclone is centred south-east of New Zealand and pressures are low to the north and south-west of New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Moderate north-east winds on the coast, light and variable inland, weather cloudy on the coast north of Banks Peninsula, elsewhere fair to fine; cold night and moderate day temperatures. Outlook: Fair.
