WOMEN’S DIVISION
FLEMINGTON MEETING The monthly meeting of the Flemington Women’s Division was held recently in the Flemington School. Mrs K. Taylor presided. An invitation was received from the Willowby-Eiffelton Institute to join with them in holding a chrysanthemum show early in May. After discussion, it was decided to accept. Arrangements were made for the annual meeting to he held on Saturday, April 17. The report on the inter-provincial conference was given by Mrs K. Taylor. Mrs C. W. Anderson spoke on uie importance of saving fat for Britain, and also of the new project shortly coming into operation for the saving of fat. One of the competitions was for ginger biscuits, which were then handed in for distribution at the Public Hospital. Eight dozen biscuits were sent. In the, absence of Miss J. Bratley, the official judge of the competitions, Mrs Miles and Mrs Skevington ably acted in the capacity of judges. The results were: —Seniors: Bloom, Miss E. Douglas 1, Mrs C. W. Anderson 2, Mrs Sutherland 3; bowl of annuals, Mrs C. W. Anderson 1, Mrs G. Blee 2, Mrs Shimmin 3; three tomatoes, Mrs C. W. Anderson 1, Mrs G. Blee 2, Mrs Kennaugh 3; thrift article, Mrs K. Taylor 1, Mrs Sutherland and Mrs Shimmin (equal) 2, Mrs T. Bell 4; ginger biscuits, Mrs Kennaugh 1, Mrs Shimmin 2, Miss E. Douglas 3; raspberry jam, Mrs K. Taylor 1, Mrs Sutherland 2, Mrs Shimmin 3. Juniors: Bloom, Betty Shimmin and Mary Small (equal) 1; -bowl of annuals, Betty Shimmin 1; three tomatoes, Mary Small 1, Betty Shimmin 2; thrift article, Betty Shimmin 1; ginger biscuits, Betty Shimmin'l. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Small and W. Skevington. ,
