HEART MURMURS NOT ALWAYS SERIOUS
MELBOURNE, March, 17. Dr. William Evans, eminent London heart specialist, says that thousands of people are condemned to -unwarranted invalidism because of innocent heart “murmurs.” ■/ • Thousands more were paying loaded insurance premiums for the same reason. 5 .V ■ ' . Dr. Evans was lecturing Melbourne doctors at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He said that it Avas time medical men realised that innoceilt systolic heart “murmurs” Avere common in children and in young adults, although they might possess a good heart. .. - Special examinations in Essex, England, of children with heart murmurs had served to reassure 60 per cent. o£ the cases.
