WOOL PRICES
DANGEROUSLY HIGH LEVEL REACHED (P.A.) WANGANUI, March 31. “The reduction in wartime stocks of wool is most satisfactory and there is every reason to believe that this commodity will remain in a sound position for some years to come,” said Mr I. F. E. Carter, chairman of the annual conference yesterday of the Meat and Wool Section of the Wanganui Provincial District Federated Farmers. “The recent fall in prices may be somewhat disquieting, but there is no doubt that we were getting to a dangerously high level, and it is hoped that some measure of stability has now'been reached.”
