SENIOR EDUCATION POSTS
APPOINTMENTS MADE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 31. The Public Service Commission has announced the following senior appointments ill the Department of Education: — Chief Inspector of Primary Schools: Mr D. G. Ball. Chief Inspector of Post-primary Schools: Mr H. Henderson. District Superintendent of Education, Auckland: Mr F. C. Lopdell. Senior Inspector, Maori Schools: Mr W. Parsonage. Superintendent of Physical Education: Mr D. R. Wills, Mr Ball succeeds Mr G. E. Overton, who retired recently, and Mr Henderson replaces Mr E. Caradus, Mr Lopdell has been principal of the Wellington Teachers’ Training College for the last 12 years. Mr Parsonage succeeds Mr T. A. Fletcher, who has been transferred to the department’s head office as a senior inspector. Mr Fletcher will act as liaison officer between Maori schools and the department. Mr Wills, who is at present organiser of physical education, succeeds Mr P. A. Smithels, who was recently appointed Director of the School of Physical Education, University of Otago.
