LANCASHIRE COAL

SHIPMENT ARRIVES FOR • RAILWAYS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 30. Believed to be the finest shipment of hand-picked coal to leave the United Kingdom, about 9000 tone of coal from Lancashire arrived at Wellington today. It was brought by the Rocky Mountains Park. The coal is for the New Zealand Railways, and is the first shipment to be exported from Britain to New Zealand since 1939. It was stated by the Railways Department that it is the first shipment of British coal it has received since 1924. Coal in the Rocky Mountains Park is believed by the crew of the ship to be the finest coal to have been shipped from the United Kingdom at any time. The coal is classed grade A 1 by the National Coal Board.

This shipment will he followed by one of a similar amount in the Broompark, which is due at Auckland from Immingham on Sunday.
