LAUNCH ADRIFT
LAST SEEN ON BARRETT'S REEF (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Breaking adrift from her moorings at Petone during the storm on Sunday night, the 36-foot launch Marlin ended a drift of Some 20 hours when she ran aground on Barrett’s Reef late yesterday afternoon. In the last light yesterday the Marlip was seen wedged between the seaward side of the reef, but this morning there was no sign of the craft. Salvage attempts are likely to be made if trace of the Marlin is. seen this afternoon. The Marlin, which is owned by Eric Rowe, of Palmerston North, has a beam of 10ft. 6in. There was no one on board when she broke from her moorings.
