BRITISH PURGE OF COMMUNISTS
CO-OPERATIVE PARTY’S DECISION LONDON, March 28. At a seesion of the national conference of the British Co-operative Party, delegates, defeated a resolution which would have urged the Government to withdraw its decision to dismiss Communists from Government positions. The Minister of Defence (Mr A. V. Alexander) told the confer enc’e that there was no suggestion that the Government was going to take action against individuals without giving them a chance to defend themselves.
