FIGURES FOR LAST MONTH ) (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 25. The total number of State houses ler. or relet throughout New Zealand in .February was 131, and of these tenancies, 99 were granted to applicants eligible for the preference extended to certain classes of former servicemen. Applications on hand on February 29 for State house* totalled 53,075, including 14,245 from former servicemen in the preference category. From the inception of the State housing scheme 24,902 new tenancies have been made available.
