ORANGE GRAND LODGE
COMMUNISM CbNDEMNED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 28. An appeal to the Government h combat Communism and to remove Communists and their avowed sympathisers from its employ was made by the centennial session of the Loyal Orange Institution of New Zealand 'during the week-end. A resolution was passed embodying this appeal and impressing on members of trades or industrial unions their* patriotic duty of attending their union meetings and so guarding against Communist control or leadership. The lodge condemned Communism as undemocratic and opposed to Christianity. A strong protest against a proposal which it is believed the Government had made to grant Stale aid to private schools was expressed by the conference.
