VETERAN AMERICAN SAILOR
DEATH ANNOUNCED NEW YORK, March 28. Rear-Admiral Ernest Rudolph Gunther, a veteran of both World Wars, died at his home at Menlo Park, California, to-clay. Rear-Admiral Gunther last January -received the insignia of Companion of the Bath from the New Zealand Minister, Sir Carl Berendseh, for his direct assistance to the New Zealand Air Force in the Second World War. He retired from the Navy less than two months ago after being in hospital for a lung ailment.
