CHARGE AGAINST GUERILLAS
Transfer of Children PROTEST TO UNO (N.Z.P. A.—Copyright). (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) ATHENS, Mar. 28. The Foreign Minister, M. Tsaldaris, telegraphed Mr Trygve Lie, Secretary-general of the United Naions, and Unesco, protesting against guerillas kidnapping Greek children and transferring them to Communist Balkan countries.
The telegram said that totalitarian Communism was carrying out a diabolical international conspiracy to kidnap tens of thousands of Greek children between the ages of three and 14It was an attempt to torture the Greeks and terrify other free peoples. The children were being enticed or torn from their parents and schooled abroad in hatred of their families. Belgrade, Sofia, Bucharest, and Budapest and Tirana radios had been admitting the arrival of Greek children. Copies of M. Tsaldaris’s telegram have been handed to the British, United States and French Ambassadors.
