JUNIOR REP. TEAM SELECTED
CRICKET
MATCH ON APRIL 3 « The selector, Mr It. IT. Biggar, has selected the following junior representative team to play the Christchurch City and Suburban Association’s junior team at Ashburton on April 3: —AV. O’Grady (captain), .T. O’Grady, A. Hansen, W. Perris (Tekau), Hampson, W. Owen, Jnr. (Methven A), T. Owers (Methven B), E. Fahey, P. Roulston (Technical), D. Frew, R. Preston (High School), Len Cornwall (Technical). Players are asked to attend practice on the Tekau ground on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. West Coast Tour The senior representative team leaves for a tour of the West Coast tomorrow morning. Matches will be played against the West Coast at Greymouth, and Buller at Westport. The Ashburton team is a strong one, though some of the usual players were not available for selection. West Coast may be expected to provide strong opposition, as they have a strong batting side, and will have the advantage of playing on their home ground. The Greymouth wicket can be very tricky to bat on, and the Coast has a good slow bowler in Lindley, who has been showing that he is a force to be reckoned with in recent matches. It is to be hoped that the touring side can maintain Ashburton’s unbeaten record this season. s
