ATOM BOMB
“NOT YET” IN RUSSIA WASHINGTON, March 25. Tiie Secretary of Defence, Mr James V. Forrestal, assured Congress to-day that Russia had not yet got the atomic bomb. “The United States posseses the knowledge and the capacity to make the atom bomb, and as yet the Soviet does not,’' lie said. “The mere possession of this undoubted asset would not necessarily turn the scale of war if war* should come, but its possession has undoubted power to dissuade from aggression sny nation, that believes we have sufficient military strength to. put that weapon to effective use.”
