N.Z. FEDERATION OF LABOUR
CARPENTERS OPPOSE NEW CONSTITUTION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Opposition to the proposed new coristitution of the New Zealand Federation of Labour was declared yesterday by the National Council of New Zealand Carpenters’ and Joiners' Union. The council decided to nominate the union’s president, Mr F. L. Langley, of Christchurch, for election as the workers’ delegate to the next conference of the International Labour Organisation in San Francisco in August, and Mr A. B. Grant, of Christchurch, as the workers’ advisory delegate. Mr F. P. W T alsh, president of the Wellington Trades Council, and -Mr P. E. Warner, secretary, will be unopposed in the annual election of officers of the council in May. Both have held office for long terms.
