EASTER HOLIDAYS The hours of attendance at the Ashburton Post Office will be as follows: Thursday, March 25 —Usual attendance: all branches, but counters open 7 p.m.-8 p.m. as on Fridays. Good Friday, March 26 —Telephone Exchange: Open continuously; other branches, closed all ’ day. Saturday, March 27 —Usual attendance in all branches, except that there will be no delivery by the postmen. Easter Monday, March 29 —Telephone Exchange: Open continuously; telegraph branch, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; other branches, closed all day. Telegrams accepted at Telegraph Branch (first floor), between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mails for the principal offices close at 9 a.m. Street posting-boxes in the suburban and business areas will be cleared at 7.30 a.m.
Mails at Ashburton close at the following times:— North Island—Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 2 p.m., late fee at Post Office 3 p.m., guard’s van 3.37 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday: 4 p.m., late fee at Post Office 5.30 p.m., guard’s van 6.5 p.m. Saturday: Noon. Christchurch, Nelson, Blenheim and West Coast—Monday: 4 a.m., 7 a„m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday and Friday: 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday: 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m. and noon. Late Fees: Monday to Friday, Post Office 7.45 a.m., guard’s van 8.15 a.m., Post Office 10.30 a.m., guard's van 11.15 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Post Office 7 5.30 p.m., guard’s van 6.5 p.m. Monday and Friday, Post Office 3 p.m., guard’s van 3.37 p.m. South—Monday to Friday 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., late fee at Post Office 9.30 a.m., guard's van 10.4 a.m. Air Mail Services Trans-Tasman air mails close on Monday to Friday at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at noon. Air mails within New Zealand close at the Ashburton Post Office: North bound— Monday, Wednesday, Friday, at 2- p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, at 4 p.m.; Saturday at noon; Monday at 5 a.m.; Monday to Friday (inclusive), at 8 p.m. Southbound—Monday to Saturday (inclusive), 7 a.m. Overseas Mails (Outward) Mails for overseas will be closed and forwa.rded as aoportunity offers.
