RARING SQUARE CHURCH

“EASTER STORY” PRESENTED A most impressive service was held last evening in the Baring Square Church when ap unusual rendition of the “Easter Story” was given by the choir. The spoken word was delivered by two choral-speaking choirs, trained by Miss L. Robinson. A large illuminated cross was specially made and erected for this service by Mr Allan Chapman, and did much to create the true atmosphere for the worship. The singing of the soloists and choir and the support of the organist, Miss Rita Porter, added to the final message which was delivered by Mr K. Fowke. The solos were: “There is a Green Hill” (Mrs K. Fowke), “1 know That My Redeemer Liveth” (Mrs K. Macfarlane), "He Was Despised” (Mrs C. Hopwoodh and “Could You Not Watch With Me” (Mr A. F. Chapman). Duets were: “Nailed to the Cross” (Miss D. Rooke and Mr 1. Gosnell), “When I Survey” (Misses D. Bishop and M. Cretney); sextette, “Gethsemane” (Misses Rooke, Mrs K. Gosnell, Miss W. Moses, Mrs E. Osborne, Misses W. Mackenzie and P. Hawkey); male voices, “Old Rugged Cross”; anthems, “God So Loved the World,” “King of Kings,” arid the “Hallelujah” Chorus,
