Lawn Tennis —A large crowd assembled at the Ashburton Lawn Tertnis Club’s courts on Tuesday to witness a match between the Victoria Tennis Club (Temuka) and the local club. The Victoria Club having an unbeaten record in South Canterbury, some good tennis Avas expected, and those present were not disappointed, as the play Avas of a high order, and many of the games Avere very closely contested.
