Irish Athletics —Mr Lionel Brood, whose exploits in the athletic line are still fresh in the memories of Ashburtonites, is entered for the sports of the Irish Athletic Society in Invercargill. He is apparently only engaged in the half-mile handicap, for which there are 21 entries. Brood is on the five yards mark, R. Borough School Amended plans and specifications for the proposed new swimming bath at the Borough School were received from Mr F. J. Williams, civil engineer, Dunedin, at the meeting of the Borough . School Committee last night. The report specified several alterations which would result-in less outlay, t the estimate for the total being £750. It pointed out that there was at present no water main near the site, and provision would require to he made for the necessary supply. The report was received, and a special meeting to deal with the matter was fixed for Thursday, April 5.
