COMMUNIST EDITOR RESIGNS (Rec. 11.1.5 a.m). LONDON, March 18. The news editor of the Communist newspaper "Daily Worker,” Douglas A. Hyde, announced that lie had resigned his position and membership of the Communist Party because of “my growing disillusionment.” He added: "It became obvious that the movement was destroying the very freedom's and decencies for which it claimed to be fighting. It became equally obvious that Communism was incapable cf providing a cure for an extremely sick world.” Mr Hyde, who has been associated with Hie Communist Party for 20 years, also stated that he had become increasingly disturbed by Soviet foreign policy, and was appalled by what bad happened in Czechoslovakia.
