INFANTILE PARALYSIS
THREE MORE CASES IN AUCKLAND (P.A.) ACICLAND, March IG. Three more positive cases of infantile paralysis were reported in the Central Auckland health district today. Two were previously on the Auckland Hospital suspected list. They are an adult from the Waiuku district and an adult from Herne Bay. The third case, also an adult, was admitted from North Shore. “The number of cases of poliomyelitis still occurring in the Auckland district suggests that if may not Impossible to reopen schools in the area for some weeks,” staid the Minister of Education (Mr T. H. McCombs) at Wellington this afternoon. “What is to be done after Easter depends on the progress of the epidemic and will have to he decided from time to time. The decision on when schools -may reopen rests with the Minister of Health, and adequate notice of reopening dates will bo given.
