PRICE FOR TABLE POTATOES The final increment of 15s a ton lias now been added to the price of table potatoes. Supplies are exceptionally scarce and there is an exceptionally strong demand for potatoes for planting, indicating that no tubers will be wasted this season. The market for chaff is quieter and only occasional orders are coming to hand. The market for clover seed remains quiet with practically no business passing. A strong demand still exists for all lines of grains suitable for feeding, but supplies are limited. Other markets are unaltered. Range of Prices The range of prices is as follows, all on trucks at country stations, sacks extra unless otherwise stated: Wheat—Tuscan 7s Sid per bushel, Hunters 7s 103 d, Velvet 8s Old, Marquis 8s 2!d (all f.0.b.). Oats —“A” Gartons 4s per bushel (ceiling price), Algerians 4s 9d to 5s 6d, Duns 4s 9d to Gs, according to quality. Red Clover —2s per lb. Barley—Chevalier and Cape 5s 6d per bushel. Chaff —G.b.o.s. £9, f.0.b.5.i., a ton. Linseed—F.a.q. £3O a ton, contract. Peas —Partridge 10s a bushel (No. l’s), contract; Prussian blues 12s 6d per bushel (No. l’s). contract. Lupins—6s 6d a bushel. Potatoes —Whites and Dakotas, £ll 10s per ton, Suttons £l2 (all f.0.b., s.i.). Price for Eggs EAx The buying price for eggs this week is Is lOd, plus 4d subsidy a dozen, and the retail price is 2s Old, This increase in price is known as the first seasonal rise.

FAT LAMB PRICES DOWN SHARP DROP YESTERDAY AT ADDINGTON (P.A.) CHRTSTCHURCIi, Nov. 12. . The store sheep entry at Addington to-day was 3617, comprising 960 ewes and lambs, 91S hoggets and 1689 wethers. The demand for ewes and lambs was not as good as in recent weeks, but the inquiry was still sound. Top price was 34s 9d for a useful lot of fine-woolled ewes with good lambs. Best made 27s 6d to 34s 9d and others 20s 3d to 27s '6d. A pen of shorn ewes with lambs made 225.

The wether yarding consisted of Chathams Romneys with the exception of one pen. Top price was 445. Best made 40s 6d to top price and others 34s lOd to 40s. The hogget entry was too small for requirements, and a large number of buyers were unsatisfied. Prices were up to last week. Best made to 40s lOd, good 35s to 38s 6d and others down to 295. The fat lamb entry was 495 and the quality was good. After a steady start at a shade below last week’s values, rates depreciated sharply, and at the. end of the sale were 8s below the opening rates. The average price per lb was Is to Is 3d. Values: Extra prime lambs, to 57s Id; prime, 40s to 465; good, 35s to 395; medium and light, 31s to 345. Ashburton sales were: —Cameron’s Estate (Pendarves), 22 at 41s 7d to 46s 7d.

The fat sheep entry was 5500, including Chathams and Marlborough sheep. Quality was good, but the “tail” was rather long.
