PLANE DAMAGED

BRITISH TRADE DELEGATION ON BOARD (Rec. 12.40 p.m.) LONDON, July 25. A Skymaster plane bringing Mr Harold Wilson and the British Trade Delegation from Moscow the runway on landing at London airport shortly before midnight last night. The plane was badly damaged and Wilson and three others were injured Mr Wilson said, “We had a very nice trip from Moscow. Then, as we were about jto land, was a tei’rific bumping and all the lights v’ent out. I was thrown forward in my seat. My ribs are hurting me and I have to see a doctor.”

Lord Burghley was also in the plana but it is understood he was not among the injured. Lord Burghley went to Moscow to attend the youths’ sports festival.

The plane did not catch fire. It is not yet known which members of the delegation were in the plane. The Foreign Office delegation which left for Moscow on June 20 comprised 20 members, but the party also included officials of the Food and Supply Ministries and Treasury officials, also a Labour member of the House of Commons, Mr Cook.
