On the eve of his departure to take up a position as line foreman at Dunedin, Mr K. A. Perry, who has been a mechanician at the Ashburton Post Office for the last eight years was farewelled by the staff. On behalf of the various departments the actingpostmaster (Mr G. B. Brown) presented Mr Perry with a leather musiccase, a leather holder and a fountainpen. He congratulated Mr Perry on his promotion and wished him success in the future. References to Mr Perry’s happy associations with the staff were made by Mr J. H. McKay (telegraph), Mr F. L. Bonifacio (ac countants) .and Mr H. Rogers (lines staff).
