ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF REVOLVER
WEAPON SOLD BY SCHOOL PUPIL (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 25. The sale of a revolver by a pupil of ■the Avondale Technical High School to another pupil was mentioned in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when John Harvey, a quarryman, pleaded guilty to being illegally in possession of a revolver. Police evidence showed that defendant’s 14-year-old eon obtained a revolver and ammunition from his parents’ home without, their knowledge, and took it .to school. He sold it for £lO to a 15-year-old pupil. He also received a home-made radio in partpayment. The purchaser had his own banking account, from which he drew £lO. For Harvey, it was stated that the revolver was a war souvenir. The defendant was fined £3.
